With a solid background in fashion and apparel sales, Chic et Performance draws on an atypical career path. After an initial stint in the Alps as seasonal workers and several years in ready-to-wear on the Atlantic coast, the decision to return to the mountains was made in 2012. Now based in Alpe d'Huez, the boutique combines technical sophistication, style and authenticity, making it a must for high-end enthusiasts.
Together, Laetitia and Benoît breathe a unique elegance into their boutique, the fruit of their passion for the mountains and their experience in fashion.
For us, selling isn't just about offering products: it's about experiencing them. On the snowy slopes, Benoît tests skis and equipment, such as models from the Swiss brand Stöckli, with the rigor of an enthusiast. He returns to the store with a sharp eye, tailor-made advice and stories to tell. "When I advise a customer, I can tell them exactly how I felt on those skis. What I'm selling, I've experienced." This proximity to the product and the terrain makes all the difference.
As for Laetitia, she carefully orchestrates elegance in the boutique. With a strong background in ready-to-wear, she creates harmonious universes where each outfit tells a story. From Bogner jackets (which dressed Agent 007 in the movies) to refined accessories, she accompanies her customers so they stand out on the runways with chic and subtlety. "Being chic means daring to be unique. Not settling for déjà-vu, but finding the perfect piece, the one that combines style and quality."
Chic et Performance is all about unearthing nuggets from elsewhere. "We look for rare brands that we don't come across online or on the corner of a shopping street," confides Benoît. Even if it means hunting for future trends on Instagram. That's how they've introduced prestigious names like One More Ski, an Italian brand combining craftsmanship and eco-responsibility, or The Mountain Studio, combining performance and contemporary design.
In addition to technical clothing and exclusive accessories, Chic et Performance also offers top-of-the-range rental equipment. In a resort where some fifty stores share the market, the duo enable their customers to ski in style, on equipment selected from the best brands.
For Laetitia and Benoît, the mountains are much more than a setting: they're a source of inspiration, a way of life and a philosophy. Through their selection, their welcome and their collaboration with Guillaume, a long-time skiman, they offer their customers a unique experience, where authenticity meets luxury.
